The year is 1999, our location is Tokyo Japan and we are Yakuza.

Two rival gangs have been at war for generations, the blood spilled in this feud could taint Tokyo bay crimson for years and yet they are no closer to resolution now than they were four hundred years ago when the first blow fell.

The Aiborī-Ren family were originally part of the Ittō-ryū but over time the families grew apart, different opinions developed and finally the head of the Aiborī-Ren found themselved unhappy with their position of Saiko-komon. Eventually the two families shattered when they were refused the chance to incorporate their own beliefs and policies within their own family. The main reason for the disagreement was simple: the Ittō-ryū believe that the Umareta Chi are superior to the Kodomo while the Aiborī-Ren treat the Kodomo as equals. When Tsubasa Mizuakari (a Kodomo) was made head of the Mizuakari family (Aiborī-Ren) the blood feud between the two families began: a blood feud that is still raging today.

  • Chapter one:
    • The Ittō-ryū, most powerful and oldest of the two, remain on top of their game despite recently losing their Oyabun to an assassin.
    • The Aiborī-Ren continue to undermine the Ittō-ryū, and it seems now with the last remaining male of the Ittō-ryū disposed of they stand a chance of winning this war.
    • The rivalry between these two families is fuelled by a hatred passed down the generations; it will only end when one of the two is wiped out.
    • The title Oyabun in the Ittō-ryū has, for the first time, been passed to a female heir, causing chaos among the more old fashioned of the family and a certain amount of weakness in the ranks.
    • Oyabun of Ittō-ryū will be laid to rest in the family vault, both families will be present at the funeral.
  • Chapter two will commence directly after the funeral.
    • The funeral will take place at a private venue, where both families must attend and keep the peace till the rituals are over. Tradition demands that there is a two weeks truce between families, so proper mourning can be done.
